What to Wear

Keep it simple, comfortable, and festive! For these 4th of July micro sessions, think classic Americana with a soft, timeless feel—not overly “costumey.”

Color Palette Ideas:

  • Red, white, and blue (of course!)

  • Soft denim

  • Light neutrals (cream, beige, soft gray)

  • Subtle patterns (stripes, small florals, gingham)

👉 Tip: Choose 2–3 coordinating colors, not everyone in the exact same outfit

For the Family:

  • Start with mom’s outfit first, then build around it

  • Mix textures (denim, cotton, linen) for depth

  • Coordinate—not match

For Kids:

  • Flowy dresses, rompers, or simple tees

  • Avoid large logos or characters

  • Barefoot or simple sandals work beautifully

For Dads:

  • Neutral tees, polos, or button-downs

  • Khaki shorts, denim, or light pants

  • Keep it relaxed and comfortable

What to Avoid:

  • Neon colors

  • Large logos or graphics

  • Super busy patterns

  • Matching everyone exactly the same

Pro Tip:

Lay everyone’s outfits out on the bed together before your session—if it looks good together there, it will photograph beautifully!
